Grommes/precision electronics have been making fine gear for decades and continue to do so in Illinois. I'm sure the designers had their resons for adding the resistors, just as they did for using the 6GT5 tubes. It would be interesting to know if it was just to be different or if they had some design parameter they were going after.....
