I have heard from a couple different folks over the years that the motor field in a vacuum can be rather strong and with guitars getting left leaning on furniture or laying on the carpet etc, the vacuum can wind up pretty close to them and supposedly can weaken the magnet. Idea being that the strong fluctuating field (AC) is like a demagger. No idea if it's true or not. Just another beleivable rumor.
