I lowered the bias to the triode to 17V and it seemed to help a bit, but the sound is still overdrive beyond 50% on the volume pot. The wave form is not as pinched but it still sounds, well, not like an ampeg. I'm thinking now that the OT needs to be changed to one with a more appropriate impedance or the PI needs to be rewired to a different style, a non-7199 PI. We'll have to see what the owner wants to spend. Marc
