Re: Marshall Valvestate 2000 AVT50 Head - Transformer
Hi KC,

Sorry it’s taken me so long to get back to you. I really appreciated the schematics; that was awesome of you!

My first assumption was that the transformer was bad, however, upon closer inspection it turns out it’s the power amp chip TDA7293; I can see clearly where it burned and bubbled.

If not too much trouble, I was hoping you wouldn’t mind answering a couple of other questions for me.

1. Assuming you’ve repaired these in the past, can I just buy the “AVT Power Module” (PCB 62-00) or will I have to sweat the bad chip off and solder the new chip onto the existing board?

2. Is “AVT Power Module” the actual assembly name that I would ask for?

3. And one last question. The name data on the fuse I pulled out of my amp is “W1.6A250VAC D198 ” but the schematic calls for a “T1.6A L=120V” Would it be safe to use either the T or the W?

Any help/ insight you can offer would be greatly appreciated. (can you tell I’m new at this, LOL)

Thanks Again,

Bill
