| Troy | Standby Switch I recently modded my 5e5 to switch between fixed and cathode bias, so I changed my standby scheme to be like the 5e5A. But I did not put the cap on the switch. Now when I put it on standby, it still makes sound for 20 seconds or so- just like when you unplug the amp and play it until the power is gone. When I flip my pentode/triode switch - and it's on standby it makes a loud buzzy hummy sound, that doesn't go away. Any ideas as to why this is happening? I can live with the extra sound for a few seconds but that noise is annoying. What is the cap on the standby switch for anyway? I don't think my 5e3 has one, but my bassman does. Thanks for any ideas.. Troy |
