Actually you are both correct. The Ruby amplifier/circuit is a circuit that allows the use of either 6L6, 6V6, EL34 or EL84's. I think it is a fixed bias circuit and one can set it up for the EL34 version with 36watts or 6v6 with 18-22 watts. The two rockers produced several flavors of the amp including an 18 watt(EL84) version, see www.indoorstorm.com, and a Custom version with their Dumble circuit, see www.overlandexpress.com as well as the standard EL34 version. It seems like a very flexible platform for experimentation. I would look forward to an explanation of why this circuit can accomodate these configurations and how you would utilize each. I doubt that it is as simple as swapping tubes like my Mesa Mark IV, but that would be great.
