Unregulated power supply...

Sacha	Unregulated power supply... Hi, Ok, surely many of you are aware of the PSA vs. ACA Boss adapter thing... I mean, the ACA are unregulated 12v... and the PSA is regulated 9v... and all the negative effects of this when wrongly used. (for those who dont know anything about that, read http://members01.chello.se/pastorn/fx/mods/bossadapt.htm) So my Boss Chorus CE-2 is manufactured before 1997 and needs an ACA 12v unregulated power supply. So I found a wireless phone power supply, DV 9v out, 500 mA, but it reads 17v, and not 9v. So I guess this one is an unregulated psu ? right ? I took a reading inside the CE-2 after the first resistor following the DC jack +, and it was 12v exactly. Any danger of burning out the circuit there ? Thanks!
