| bnwitt | Re: VARIAC Forming caps with a variac is something that should be done with an old amp you found out in the barn. New caps don't need it. It is a way to bring up an old amp under lower voltages to make sure everything is ok before you pound it with full voltage. This can also be done with the homemade current limiter which uses the light bulb in series. |
