I made a set of Strat pickups a while ago for someone who wanted jangle. I used Alnico II and wound them to about 5.5 K. The guitar was light-bodied ( boxwood ) with a maple neck. It had tons of Jangle with the new pickups and sounded loud. Perhaps try something like that.
