This is fine if you are just experimenting but it's a bugger trying to get the wire off the spool without snapping it. If you are serious about making pickups it'll cost you a whole load more for the 5Kg reels but you will be able to make about 200 pickups per reel. You will find that Ray is the only one there who knows his stuff but he can be a little patronising. So my advice is to just tell him you want a 5Kg reel of 0.063mm ( 42 AWG ) or whatever. I'm assuming you want plain enamel here. By the way a reel this size will set you back about &70 inc Vat and P&P. Get your magnets from SK at A.M.P.G.E.
