Re: MIJ Jaguar:serial switching?
Hi,

I've done this on my Ibanez. But sometimes there can be complications, especially with humbuckers. First you have to check the wires coming from your pickups. If there is only one lead and the grounding shield on the outside, you've got a problem. This is the case with most stock humbuckers, and it means that you have to cut the grounding wire from the coil and solder a new shielded outcoming lead to the coil.
But you're talking about a Jaguar, probably with plastic covered pickups and thus things should be much easier. So here is what you can do. Just check out the lead that goes from your bridge pickup to the ground and cut it somewhere close to the place where you want to put your push-pull pot (eventually if it doesn't pass there, you'll have to add some lead). Blank the two ends and then solder the pickup's end to the middle pin of your push-pull pot and the grounded end to the lower pin (for pushed mode). The last thing you have to do is to solder a new lead from the upper pin (pulled mode) of your pot to the hot lead of the neck pickup (best on the pickup selector).

Thus, with the pot switch pulled, when you choose the bridge pickup, both pickups will be in series.
Not so, however, if you activate the neck pickup or both pickups together. In those cases you'll hear only your neck pickup. With the pot pushed down, everything will be as it was.
