| Borsanova | Re: Balance between two humbuckers with different impeda Thanks a lot. You have cleared my doubts. I think the problem is, very close to what you said, the eq curve of the Fred. While classic PAF pickups have kind of a "valley" in the midrange, the DiMarzio has a huge "mountain" there (and less treble and bass). That is why it only fills up the sound of the neck pu in the midrange in an almost unperceivable manner, without adding any trebles. I thought they'd combine well but maybe they're just too different. So maybe I'll start looking for a better pickup for the bridge position, I thought about buying a Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates, but after your clarification I could even try a Screamin' Demon. Any other suggestions? |
