| GregP | Re: Pro Junior preamp problem When discharging the caps to ground, do I ground to chassis ground or to earth, or just discharge on the plate of V1? Six of one, half dozen of the other? Really don't want to get zapped, so I'd rather sound like an idiot than be one. I'll never get my feet wet if I can't at least get into the circuit and check things out safely. I really think this is a mechanical issue (cold solder joint or tube socket). I ran this amp fully cranked into a dummy load and Behringer DI for recording and it worked fine. But when playing the amp directly through the speaker, the vibration of the speaker has an undesired effect somewhere in the circuit. Thanks for all the input thus far guys. |
