Ahhh, get your point now. Well done for coming up with the potential bias current issue!! I can honestly say I think of bias current all the time but I've never thought about the effect of bias current on a TS-9 clipper.  
 
I have experimented with biasing the clipper diodes though-and found you can bias it a "fair way" before you notice it. I think 200mV would be audible.  
 
 
Whether bias current is an issue or not I don't know. Incidently, the 4558 has a very large difference between typical and max input bias currents. The max is up with the other bipolars, nonetheless the 5532 and 833 really are quite high.
