| nic | Re: My Fulltone Experience To start I am not saying your experience is not an inconvinience... Many places charge restocking fees. 5% is not too steep in comparison to RAM for your computer for example. I doubt that direct selling his pedals is really his meat and potatoes operation. It is pretty cool that he can maintain a retail webspace AND a rapport with dealers online and B&M. Guitr Center carries Fulltone and doesn't charge restocking... Hell they give you an obsurd return time something like 90 days. As far as quality, Fuller has really been the driving force behind tight tolerances and consistent products in the boutique business. I don't think he is fooling everybody that buys his products. People like the stuff cause as in the case of the "69" pedal it is a fraction of the cost of a vintage Fuzz Face, WAY more consistent, much more flexible and pretty non-intrusive as far as cosmetics are concerned. We have all had our runins and experiences with Fuller. Maintaining a business should be a lot of fun for anybody who chooses to do so. However, not everybody is cut out for providing high standards of "friendly" customer service. Especially cut slack for people who work with soldering irons all day. Lead is a bad thing, we all remember the Mad Hatter. Good thing is at the Ampage we all know there are plenty of other options commercial and DIY. Options are what keeps capitalism well oiled. All this coming from a guy who uses no Fulltone products (due in part to an encounter many years ago). I simply prefer DIY or obsurd/obscure pedal makers. nic |
