Howard	Brightening mods! Greetings After the great results I got replacing the 25 uF cathode bypass cap on the first stage, I'm reading these posts with great interest. Changing it to 1 uF sounds pretty good already. It sounds to me like the original poster of this thread changed out all of the cathode bypass caps. Is this true? How much better is it to do this versus doing just the first stage? The volume control mod looks like something cool to try too. I used coax to connect the controls to pin 2 of the 12AX7. Which end is best for adding the cap and resistor? Also, as you might have read in an earlier post, I'm having serious amp envy over my brother-inlaw's brown deluxe. I'm wondering what might account for the main differences between this amp (5E3) and the brown. Are there any mods that will make this amp sound more brown? This is a great place to hangout!
