I recently used Steve's variation of the mid boost/cut in my tele with very good results. For pickups I have a Seth Lover in the neck and a Lil' 59'r in the bridge. Nice tonal variations both clean and overdrive. It may not be for everyone, but it's easy enough to wire it up and give it a try!
