| Gus | built one: A friend was having a custom guitar built. He wanted a setup like the gibson L6. He owns a L6, the 1.5H humbucking coil looks to have been wound on a 1/4 20 bolt. I used a 1/4 20 and 3 washers. I used #38 wire and filled both sections. I did not count the turns, FWIW I bought a sieg var speed metal lathe works well for coils(299.00), it took about 5 min to fill each side. Both sides were about the same R and wire measured about 2H so I gave him a .0068 cap. It sounds OK If I do this again I will take notes and Pics. |
