It's not a sin to stray away from the traditional single coil construction if u get good results. I think we're all used to the fact that the classic single coils of old had alnico rods and we take that as the law of the land...but...what if those guys in the 50's used ceramic bars instead of alnico rods? Would the "classic" and "supreme" single coils today would be the ones with the bar...or would we all be lamenting the "bad" choice for magnets those guys made in the 50's and be going for the "new" option of using alnico rods???? Get my idea?? Come to think about it... Luijo
