A new magnet material?

Dick | A new magnet material? Hi everyone, I was wondering if any one has ever thought of using a new material for magnets as opposed to Alnico and Ceramic. Are there any alternatives? What about the old trick of magnetising a nail by rubbing it with magnet... Is it possible to create new bars out of, say, mild steel? (would rust though) This MAY enable new sounds...- perhaps there may be a diiferent alloy which has the desireable tone of Alnico, with the power and 'Oomph' of Ceramic. Please share your thoughts!!
