Re: What if we succeed?
Just an observation gained from similar collective attempts at purchasing/manufacture.

If all the parties in the collective are in the same country - no problem, however, if they are in say US, Oz,UK the parts (bobbins) will be shipped to one location AND then re-shipped to the others which creates additional expense for those second in line.

Does the collective then amortise the costs equally across the whole or do the second shipped pay more?

Surely its cheaper to use existing Far Eastern makers for the main stuff ie. complete Strat bobbins with six alnico mags (bevelled)/ top and bottom plates Forbon/fully assembled with eyelets fitted USD 3.30 (ex works)or Tele Bridge USD4.20, good quality P90 bobbins USD3.00 etc.. etc.

Anything easier or cheaper to make locally by all means do so but hell why try to re-invent the wheel?

When dealing with the Makers be polite, agreeable and friendly - after all - if what you make is any good you may be the producer who buys thousands of bits from 'em in the future and in my experience once you're in with a manufacturer they'll try to help in every way they can.
