I figured that for a humbucker, all you need is same magnet orientation within a bobbin, and one bobbin oriented oppositely from the other...if that makes sense.

A quick'n'dirty calculation on that neodymium magnet+steel pole piece setup sez the magnetic field at the string is about 30% higher than a stock Alnico V and the magnetic aperture is about twice as wide.

I'm pretty curious, wondering if the big aperture will make it sound more nasal as well as higher output.
