The best feature of EMG pickups is that they are shielded so well. They don't require string grounding. I know I am not comparing apples to apples when comparing the active EMG's to passive designs, but what are the best ways to minimize noise with passive design single coil pickups? Is string grounding just a fact of life when using passive pickups?
