I tried an older B&K to measure coil self-capacitance once but got screwy readings, indicating either too high or shorted. Don't know if its batteries were good but it put me off of them. The test equipment has improved a lot in the last 10 years, so there's got to be an okay LCR/impedance meter out there for under $200. Suggestions? -drh --
