But, after hearing all of that "Important MS Update" on the news and installing an additional 120Gigs to my current 60G I decided to update service packs. NOW get this. I have a small network a PC and a laptop running through a router. I used to be able to find each computer on my network places in order to share files. Since I have updated, no cigar. You may have guessed it, YES both are the same license. I know it is my fault for not buying two licenses of W2K Pro. It is scarey cause if it IS true then imagine what sort of havoc could happen if they were able to "disable" all network abilities even to the internet by blocking duplicate non-registered W98-W2K OS computers. Enough for me to REALLY consider using Linux exclusively. I am already very comfortable with the environment and I found a neato way to mount NTFS partitions for reading purposes, no write unfortunately. This saves me the headache of re-ripping all of my 30 Gigs of MP3's (I own the CD's for 90% of them incidentally). I just wish tools that make my life easier like Dreamweaver and Cubase were on Linux. ack, nic |
