| sr | Re: Swim your @$$ off! I second that, as long as you like water! swimming IMHO is definitely the #1 low impact, high cardio sport you can do IMHO.. (and IME.. I swam competitively at the state and regional levels for many years, swam ~5 miles a day) Not a macho man by any stretch, when we had the pres fitness tests in HS, only 1 guy in the school did more situps than I did in the time alloted, and he was the super jock capn of the football team (and soccer as well..) anyhow, it gets you in great shape, that's all I'm trying to say. fwiw - if you really want to work the abs, swim butterfly, or more to the point get a kickboard and just kick 'fly for a workout.. even 500 yds a day ought to do it. Leg lifts are great as well (lie on your back and raise them both.. etc). Get a good routine going and bullets will bounce off you in a couple of months! |
