| Buffaloe | Re: DAB The Eureka 147 system you're listening to is digitally compressed. Algorithms are used to determine the bits of the music that you can't hear, and they're removed. It saves bandwidth. A CD is completely uncompressed, so logic would indicate that there is something missing from the compressed audio. The U.S. system will be more compressed than the Eureka. I can't imagine why anyone on your system would be in mono unless they were choosing to do so. No one is transmitting a composite (like FM) signal when running in the digital mode, so it's strange to me they would choose to run a mono signal. Nothing to be gained that I can think of. |
