Logan	Re: Any low budget mic preamps out there that are any good? Presonus makes a mic pre for $99.00. It has a single 12AX7 vu meter, level, gain, XLr and 1/4" ins and outs. I have used it with a Beta57 and a CAD200 in both cases it had a definate positive effect. With the pre-amp the signal sounds rich, and very warm. Without more towards the digital sterile side. Well worth it for the money. Cheers
