Re: Good tip for Removing a Polyurethane Finish
When using a heat-gun, make sure the gtr body is sitting on something you don't care about trashing a bit, because the heat goes around corners, etc.
I have been using one on a house lately, plus it's in the upper 90's here, so it's like walking into hell wearing a heavy winter coat.
My sister once caught her house on fire with a heat-gun (because it makes spider webs and dust go up in flames at a certain point). I happened to walk past where she had just been using it and wondered what the hell the bright orange light coming from a crack in the wall was. Yeah, it was flames.
I'm tempted to try the heat-gun on finished necks that customers want converted to an oil finish. Sure would beat scraping, as long as it won't do damage.
