I've had cheap guitars in the past that worked for the situation. Back in my hair days I played a Washburn AV something, kahler trem super strat thing. it was light (so I could jump around like an ass), resonant, loud, and played probably better than any guitar I've ever owned. Unfortuntaely the two humbucker thing limited the tones and it was ugly as hell.
