I've come to the conclusion that as simple and pure tube as the c30's circuit is, and with all the mods and experimenting i've done, the only thing that remains as a possible reason the amp can't seem to get into killer boutique territory is the tranny. Mine sounds great with the mods i've done, and i'm quite happy with it. But i just know it's capable of totally killer tone, and i too think it's only the tranny that keeps it from getting there.
