The guy I bought it from was frustrated that he got a great sound on the Lead ch, but then when he switched to the Clean ch it sounded terrible- gritty. This mod decreases the amount of distortion in the lead channel by putting a pot between the 1st & second gain stage. I further decreased the clean gain by changing the second gain stage cathode & grid resistor values and now have no problem going from clean to Lead. I would be interested if you could post more of what you saw in your friends amp. RR
