gazza	It's ALIVE !!!!!! holy smokes the thing actually works and staggeringly sound quite good ! what's the odd of that happening for a first build ? What held me back for ages (apart from too much work over the last six months) was an error i made in the original layout sketch that was then copied to the final layout drawing and then to the amps wiring. I had the coupling caps for the power tubes going to the worng side of the phase inverter anode resistors - DOH ! that was it, after I finally noticed (after too many hours staring at the bloody thing) it was 5 minutes and it made some sound. So, how's it sound - well it rocks ! no motorboating, not evidence of any weird oscillations, not too much hum and hiss. totally groovey. I'll take some photos etc. and put it on my web site soonish.
