| Edward | Bedrock 1600 I recently purchased a mint early '90s Bedrock 1600 50 watt head for a good price. This was Bedrock's "flagship" amp when it was in production. It has two discrete pre-amp sections [Fender clean/Marshall high gain] into an EL34 based power section...each channel with it's own gain and volume. It also has two effect loops [with seperate level controls] and dual reverbs. So far I'm really digging this amp...especially the high gain British side, which [at least to my ears] sounds like a somewhat smoother sounding hot-rodded Marshall Plexi. Many feel that the Bedrock 1600 was killed from the bad press that it received from the Guitar Player Magazine amplifier "shootout" from that time period [both 1600's suffered mechanical problems].What I am having trouble finding is an owner's manual and a schematic.Any help in finding each [or even photo copies of such] would be most appreciated. Btw,if anyone has a 1600 [or has owned/played one],could you give some insight into how the effects loop[s] interact with the pre-amp?I'm finding that the fx mix controls add alot of gain fairly early as they are turned up.Actually, any insights about the 1600 would be great. Thanks for taking the time to read my post.
