| Brad1 | Re: Anyone ever hear of Webcor tubes? Webcor is Webster-Chicago. If you Google it, you will see company history and find some products. I believe they started with wire recorders. I have an old Webcor TP4905-1 amp that I picked up at a yard sale for $2. I think it was meant just as an amp for a tape deck. Has one knob, a rotary on-off/volume. 12AU7, two 12AB5's, and a 5Y3GT. 6" and 4" speaker. Can't be more than a couple watts. Slightly smaller than a Fender reverb unit. Kinda cool slamming it with a little front-end boost. Also had an old Webcor R-R that I was trying to use as an overdrive, though I never got that sounding very good. I just robbed the tubes, and threw it back at Goodwill. Brad |
