| swt | power amp oscillating, and ps caps qs Hey guys!- i have a twin reverb type power amp and reverb, with two channels. one is the normal twin rev clean with a master to achieve a small crunchiness, and the other one is a dumble type of overdrive. If i put the master on any of the 2 channels above 7 the power amp goes into self oscillation. I built this amp in an old one no brand, but good transformers, and sockets. Six nine pins, and 4 8 pins, and also reverb transformer and choke. I'd used the original caps for the power supply. i assumed the are really old. Can this be the cause?. Or maybe just bad layout. It's got starground, and i tried to keep the leads tidy and short. any suggestions?. Also...if i have the dumble channel modified into a marshall type of pre...how can i add reverb to it?. Thanks a lot!! |
