I can't answer your question specifically since I haven't used a chassis that thick before but I have used the alphas with a Fender steel chassis with no problems. I've also used them for making fx pedals with Hammond boxes which are pretty thick (don't know how though off the top of my head). Make sure you are cutting off the little anti-rotation nub and using a thin, toothed washer instead. If you look in the Mouser catalog they have the dimensions for the pots which ought to help. MJ
