| sick of zvex | How to Build a Fuzz Factory... I have had it with hearing zvex dis everyone on here who has helped anyone and everyone and not brought bad blood to this part of the world. What come around goes around zvex. I lost my respect and that was all that was keeping us from posting this info. How to build a Fuzz Factory: · Looking at all pots from the front with the lugs facing you and the “knob” on top, the lugs are numbered lug (1), wiper lug (2), lug (3) · Negative battery lead = V- · Positive battery lead to outside lug (1) of 5K linear Stab pot set up as a variable resistor with lug (1) attached to wiper lug (2); lug (3) = Ground; all connections referred to as “Ground” are attached to this point: lug (3) · Input is coupled through a 10uF tantalum cap to T1, a 2N3904 NPN Si transistor · T1’s emitter is tied to V- · T1 has a 10k resistor from the collector to Ground; a 220k resistor is tied from the collector to the base of T1 · The output of T1 is taken from the collector and coupled by a .1 uF cap to the base of T2; an unmarked transistor that I am assuming is a PNP Ge type due to the circuit (a Fuzz Face with an additional gain stage in front and some extra controls over bias) and it’s construction · T2’s emitter is attached to Ground · T2’s collector is attached to one end of a 470 ohm resistor, which has it’s other end attached to the outside lug (3) of a 10k linear Gate pot set up as a variable resistor whose wiper lug (2) and other outside lug (1) are tied together and go to “V-” · The output of T2 is taken from the collector and is directly coupled to the base of T3; an unmarked transistor, again, I assume a PNP Ge type · A 47k resistor is tied from T3’s emitter to T2’s base · One outside lug (3) of a 10k linear Drive pot is attached to T3’s emitter, whose other lug (1) is attached to Ground and whose wiper lug (2) is attached to one end of a 10uF tantalum cap, which has it’s other end attached to Ground · One outside lug (1) of a 10k linear Comp pot is attached to T3’s emitter and is set up as a variable resistor by tying lug (1) to the wiper lug (2) and tying the other outside lug (3) to Ground · T3’s collector is attached to a 5.1k resistor · One outside lug (3) of a 5k linear Vol pot is attached to the other end of the 5.1k resistor on T3’s collector, the other outside lug (1) is attached to V- and the wiper lug (2) is attached to one end of a 10uF tantalum capacitor · The output is taken from the other end of the 10uF capacitor attached to lug (2) above, which is also attached to one side of a 220k resistor whose other end is attached to V- Email me for a schematic. |
