Thanks, I prefer that to the amber as well--it looks more like the newer tweeds I've seen in stores. It's still not that faded, bleached out look of the real deals, but I can live with it.  
 
So far I've applied two coats of shellac. I think next I'll use some paste wax.  
 
As for humidity, I live in an area between the bay and the ocean. Needless to say, during warm months the humidity is at +90% most of the time. I learned the hard way that using contact cement in these conditions is a challenge. My first tweedy required a hair dryer to get things to stick. The twin was covered indoors, in air conditioned comfort with a fan blowing the fumes out of my face. A few gripes about the smell from my wife, but the whole process was done in less than 24 hours. Luckily, I didnt have any problems with blushing or blotchiness during the finish process.
