Me too. Here's the scoop. The Bass Channel is useless as shipped. It trims off way too much highs - (good for dark bass). There's a low pass filter on the B+ line on the 4th gain stage. Removing this .002uF just lets all the great harmonics come through. In addition, reducing the 25uF cathode bypass cap on the first gain stage gives me wonderful tone. The interesting thing about this amp is .... look at the normal channel (which the samples were done with), NONE of this fancy stuff but it kicks butt! It will be a little while before I can turn the Bass channel on 10 too, but I will! I will have samples as well. |
