| Brett | Re: Useless Comet info (long) Glad to hear I'm not the only Comet buff around here. The first Comet I saw was my uncles '66 Cyclone, 390 4-speed. It was as virgin as they come, the paint was faded but the interior was perfect. The cigarette lighter had never been used it still had the original washer soap in the glass bottle under the hood, it was virgin. It drove like a Lincoln and would kill my dads 5.0 Mustang in the quarter mile. He traded it for a factory '64 Galaxy 427 lightweight with XL interior. It is bigger, more comfortable, and one of the fastest production cars ever made. Definately traded up. My current driver is a '64 Comet 202 with a 289 4-speed and 4.11 locker rear end. It only weighs about 3000 pounds with me and a half tank of gas. To say the least it is a fun car. It is my fifth Comet. I got my first when I was 13. My cousin Luke has a '64 Caliente, his first car. My cousin Robin has a '64 Cyclone, also her first car. These thing are great, they are cheaper than Mustangs and look better than Falcons. Check them out at: http://www.teleport.com/~mrriggs/cars/pics/index.htm For those of you who aren't car buffs I also have guitar stuff there. |
