I had one of those amps, and replacing the speaker with a Celestion 10" was all it took to improve the sound and clear up the bass dramatically. I still had to leave the bass knob pretty low, though. Oh yeah, there was one other thing I did to keep the bass in check - left the volume knob pulled out all the time! I got a great Steve Jones / Sex Pistols sound from that amp. Shea
