| Tracy | Re: Mesa/Boogie Mark I transformers I think the tweed amps are mostly class A meaning more idle current. Also they use lower plate voltage to achieve this. the tweed amps power tubes are most all cathode resistor biased instead of fixed negative voltage bias. I suspect they may be using a fixed to cathode bias switch, mabe with a tapped transformer to raise and lower the voltage. |
