| JethroTullBodine | Re: Live sound help/opinions... 1. go for a seperate amp/monitor set up..the *modular* aspect will be nice as you may want to add more monitors and/or power..Community stuff seems to be a decent bang for the buck...go big on CLEAN power...not to fry your singer..but nice to keep distortion out of the monitors.. one common reason for blown drivers..not enough amp.. 2.Hmmm...well you probably don't mix in stereo.. so the muticom across the drum sub would leave three more mono compressors..but I would comp the snare and kick..and a tad on vocals to tame plosives..I guess I'd need more info on your PA..( I'm spoiled tho..a compressor for every channel) 3. no prob...just be sure to use a pattern that is right for the instrument..most feed back is poor mic/speaker placement problems...for drums can't beat the Beyer or audix clip on style mic packages. one overhead works good.. hope this helps a bit!!
