DR.Z | Re: Mavenpeal Amps I believe I was the last manufacture that David approached with his Sag design. Just think if Peavey was the last company it would be called the PITA not the ZEETA. But seriuosly, I believed that David's design was best suited for a modeling type SS amp, to give it more feel and life. I didn't think that a 15 watt amp with a well designed tube rectified power supply would be that improved with his design to justify the large increase in price due to royalties. As for his price point with his design, I wish him well, it is a bold position, but I feel , and this is my opinion, that it falls into his marketing approach, for a larger manufacter to purchase the rights to produce the amp, once he has established a market share. This has been tried a few times with other amp builders, and no one to date has been able to make it work past one NAMM show splash. DR.Z |
