anon	New sounds A lot of the talk on this BB has to do with the great amps designed in the past. This makes sense - it's hard to imagine a nicer electric guitar tone than that which comes from an old Fender amp. My question is, are any designers/builders concerned with new and better amp sounds/concepts that have not been tried before? Is there anything radically different out there, or is it all just endless variations on the Fender/Marshall theme? My own personal desires - which have never been fulfilled - are 1) for a totally noise-free amp (DEAD silent), and 2) for a hundred-watt combo that weighs under 20 pounds. With all respect to those who study and glorify the great tube amps, who's got some really NEW stuff? If we can put a man on the moon...
