Diodes to ground on output trannie ?

Tracy	Diodes to ground on output trannie ? Hi I'm working on an ampeg v4b that's blowin fuses. After checking one pair of these diodes with my DMM, I've concluded one pair is an open circuit. The part number is obsolete. Fender uses pt# R3000 diodes on the prosonic and blues Jr. It's a 3000 volt, high voltage diode that none of the normal suppliers carry. Can someone explain to me how these diodes function in the circuit? should I just leave them out? What would be a suitable replacment?
