Actually the true bypass mod is not part of the 9 to 808 conversion but is a great idea. The problem with it is that you will probably need to change the enclosure to accomodate a DPDT switch as the TS cases are designed around the FET switching. Besides the input buffer on the TS is sufficient to avoid loading your guitar signal and should suck any tone. Any way I think Gus was right, you probably switched the two resistors thereby limiting the amount of signal that can get out. Also check all the jack connections and your soldering you could be losing signal though stray capacitance to groung through poor connections. Email me if you have any questions.
