Telefunken ECC88 from a Tektronix Scope?

| Psycho Bass Guy | Telefunken ECC88 from a Tektronix Scope? From a recent score of my own, (a Tektronix 503 dual trace tube oscilliscope) I found in one side an ECC88 labelled made in Germany. (haven't opened up the other yet) The overall construction is very similar to other Telefunken tubes I have seen but there is no diamond on the bottom. (although it does have that strange brown tint looking discoloration around the base in between the pins that only Tele's seem to get) It is way too old to have been made post reunification in Germany, so I am thinking it is a Tele, but before their factories got split by the Iron Curtain they did not use the diamond mark. BTW the scope is really nice -point to point- and I hope to get it working. (It may right now, but I am not going to test it until I clean about a hundred years worth of dust out of it.) If anybody knows who made that tube or anything about the scope, I would appreciate any info. Psycho |
