| Farrow | Re: Best Way To Make Holes For Pots & Jacks They're called "Brad-Point" bits and I use them for everything. A little tip that I found handy: Take a piece of colored heatshrink tubing and slip a band of it around the bit's shank. This way, when you need a 3/8" bit for a 1/4 jack, you just find the yellow bit (or whatever.) Probably saved me hours of looking around. BTW all the boxes I ddrill for my effects pedals are fairly thick steel and I never had any problems. One more thing: never hold anything you drill WITH YOUR HAND! If you don't have a vise, screw whatever it is to a board. And go slowly. Farrow http://surf.to/pharaohamps |
